Burger King is giving away free burgers on Bonfire Night to fire service - here's how to claim yours

Remember, remember the 5th November.

Guy Fawkes night also known as Bonfire night is a night of fun, with sparklers, fireworks and bonfire. It also lands on Friday this year, which means families can stay out a little longer to watch the fireworks.

Bonfire Night is memorialised because the day originates from the fifth year of the seventeenth century to the Gunpowder Plot. In November, 1605 certain Catholic fanatics rebelled against the Monarchy in protest against the mistreatment of Catholics.

Some men sought revenge by detonating explosives at the Houses of Parliament, the weapon to be used for the deed were barrels of gunpowder situated underneath the house.

They were to be ignited while the king and other representatives were in the confines of parliament.

The action was then aborted when the police discovered the scheme before Guy Fawkes could blast off the gunpowder. It’s rumoured that the failed Gunpowder Plot was due to squabbles among the planners.

With the history lesson aside, here’s how you can claim your free burger.

How to claim your free burger

For firefighters, Bonfire Night is their busiest night of the year, so to honour the commitment and dedication of our fire services, Burger King will be giving away free flame grilled Whopper* to all firefighters across the 1,996 fire stations in the UK.

The vouchers will be gifted to the fire stations and firefighters can then present the coupon before ordering at any Burger King.

If a Whopper isn’t your thing, you can still claim any of the restaurant’s core burgers from the menu from November 5, 2021.
