Burger King has been trolling McDonald's all year and nobody noticed

We all love a bit of friendly banter between rivals - and fast food chains are no different.

But Burger King has just taken their trolling game to the next level as far as McDonalds is concerned.

With only days to go until the end of the decade, Burger King admitted they've spent the whole year poking fun at the iconic Big Mac without anyone even knowing.

Burger King's social media team took to Twitter to tease their YouTube video that reveals all, the Manchester Evening News reports.

"You see, throughout 2019, we were keeping a bit of a secret," the video begins.

"Actually, a Whopper of a secret.

"Everybody knows our burger is more generous than that  other   burger.

"So we thought we'd prove it, by hiding a 'Big' Mac behind every Whopper we photographed.

"That's right. There was a 'Big' Mac in every single Whopper advert in the UK in 2019."

To help prove their point, the video then shows all ads, from billboards to Instagram posts, that they claim also features the McDonald's burger.

"Such a shame you couldn't see it," they says as they begin to end the brutal post.

It then shows a hand reaching behind a Whopper to pick up a McDonald's burger which had been there all along.

"So there you are. Confession made. Our secret's out.

"Thank you Maccy D's for having our back in 2019."

And of course, social media users have responded.

"I'm here for the Maccys response..." said one.

Another replied: "Love this, sooooo bold. Bring on the response....."

"Lol, awks. @McDonalds, your silence on this is deafening," added a third.

"Boom! You've just been owned again  @McDonalds  - you know what to do - scrap, scrap, scrap" joked a third.

But then another reasonably questioned: "Don't understand why u would do that."

Burger King hasn't really explained why they did it but more importantly, McDonald's is yet to respond.

We're waiting.
