Halloumi lovers across the UK are in for a treat at Burger King as the fast food chain have this week announced an expansion of their menu.
The menu has been reduced during lockdown, but is now set to feature two more items - one new and one fan favourite.
Burger King are bringing back their Halloumi King Burger to all re-opened restaurants.
As well as this they will be adding a brand-new Halloumi Bacon Burger, just in time for summer.
The new items are on the menu right now, so you don't have to wait to go and try one.
The Halloumi King Burger is made up of two fried Halloumi patties, served in a brioche bun with crisp lettuce, onion and mayo with a slice of tomato.
Similarly the Halloumi Bacon Burger sees crispy bacon sandwiched between two fried Halloumi patties, served in a brioche bun with lettuce, mayo and tomato.
Both burgers can be bought on their own, or as part of a meal alongside Burger King’s signature French fries and your favourite drink.
It's important to note that while the Halloumi Burger is advertised as a meat-free option, it is cooked on in the same oil as chicken and fish, so vegetarians may not consider it a suitable meal.
Burger King has also announced its Bacon King Burger will make its return to menus from today, which sees two flame-grilled 100 percent British and Irish beef burgers, topped with thick-cut smoked bacon, melted American cheese, ketchup and mayonnaise, all piled on a soft sesame seed bun.
Katie Evans, Marketing Director at Burger King UK said: "We are so pleased to be able to start expanding our menu again as we continue to ease out of lockdown with our phased re-opening plan.
"You asked, we listened and now we can finally bring a dose of much-needed joy with the return of our very popular Halloumi King Burger and brand-new Halloumi Bacon Burger, just in time for summer."
Burger King is currently continuing its phased re-opening plan – which will see the fast food chain reach the re-open milestone of 350 locations for delivery and drive-thru by the end of June.
A number of safety measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of customers, staff and partners.
