Burford Antiques in Castle Douglas set to feature on Antiques Road Trip

A Castle Douglas antiques shop is set to feature on TV.

Burford Antiques was recently visited by the Antiques Road Trip team, including expert Margie Cooper who kept the staff entertained with her good humour.

The shop was closed for three hours while filming took place and Margie searched for a bargain, having had bad luck the previous day when she sold some Merano glass baskets at Dumfries Auction House for a loss.

This time around she scooped up two interesting items from Kirsty and Jason at Burford Antiques - a 1930 Merry Thought pyjama case monkey made of mohair and a brass sign reading antique department.

The crew then went on to film the lovely snowy hills at Carsphairn on the way to Dalmellington, with the episode expected to be shown on BBC 1 in August.
