A serial thief has been jailed after making a getaway on a child’s ride-on toy he stole from Halfords.
Heroin addict David McGregor, 48, took the toy from his local branch of the bike shop in Perth, planning to sell it for drug money.
McGregor has a string of convictions to his name and a reputation for bungling his crimes.
He once swallowed jewellery when he was caught robbing a homeowner, then broke his hip trying to escape.
He was jailed in 2018 when he left his rucksack behind after robbing a charity shop.
At Perth Sheriff Court last week, he was sentenced to eight months after admitting the Halfords raid in April last year.
