Simon Jordan has launched a scathing attack on Nottingham Forest's players, pointing the finger of blame at them for Chris Hughton's sacking.
The former Crystal Palace chairman turned talkSPORT pundit reckons everybody at the City Ground is guilty for Hughton losing his job last month.
It comes as Forest have started life exceedingly well under new manager Steve Cooper, who registered back-to-back 3-0 victories after drawing with Millwall.
On the situation at Forest, Jordan said: “You made the change because Chris Hughton wasn’t getting from these players what he required.
“And if you look to the previous game and some of the results I saw they were just shocking, they weren’t playing for this manager."
Forest had earned just one point all season under Hughton before he was relieved of his post, with the point coming in the form of a 1-1 draw away to East Midlands rivals Derby County.
Jordan insists the move to appoint Hughton didn’t work for any of the parties involved, adding: “So I think ultimately, everybody is guilty of something in this.
“Everybody’s guilty, the Forest board are guilty of perhaps making the wrong decision with Chris Hughton and I know in the first place Chris Hughton making the wrong decision to join Nottingham Forest at this stage in his career and the players not delivering on a reasonable level of expectation that put them bottom of the league until Derby superseded them with a 12-point penalty.”
Despite Forest’s great form under Cooper, who has picked up seven points from a possible nine from his time in charge, Jordan reckons the new Reds boss will face the same issues from a squad who let his predecessor down.
The outspoken radio pundit was even more scathing in his rant on talkSPORT, which you can hear here.
