Spotted by the eagle-eyed Guido Fawkes this morning was the following rather sorry message from the men and women we've elected to run the country.
Welcome to the Labour Party website. The normal site is temporarily unavailable following an explosion at Buncefield oil depot in Hemel Hempstead on Sunday 11 December.
Part of the offices of our hosting company were extensively damaged, resulting in the loss of our site.
We will be back online as quickly as possible.
Oops. Where was the back up, boys? For those Labour apparatchiks hanging their heads in shame this morning, it might not all be bad news. This embarrassing incident could finally prompt the beancounters in the Old Queen Street Labour HQ to fork out and do a proper redesign of their unhelpful and difficult site.
Guardian Unlimited understands that there has been serious internal discussion - at No 10 level - about what improvements could be made. This has been given added urgency by the good publicity team Cameron received for their almost instantaneous redesign of the old party site.
The West Wing obsessives in No 10 have been looking rather enviously at the impressive Democratic party site in Washington DC and asking why they can't have something similar.
