A shopper filmed himself calling customers 'f***ing sheep' for wearing masks in public.
The footage - believed to have been taken at Asda in Tunstall, Staffordshire - shows the man wandering down the aisles as he shouts 'sheep' at men and women picking up their groceries.
The film was made on the day that mask wearing in shops was made mandatory, Stoke Sentinel reported.
He can be heard saying: "Look at all these f****** sheep in here wearing f****** masks. There's sheep everywhere."
At one point he turns to a man wearing a mask and says: "You don't have to wear that you know mate. You don't have to wear them.
"It's compulsory not mandatory. You look like f****** idiots with those masks on."
The ranting man, who appears to be in his 30s, swings the camera round so its filming his face when he reaches the gravy section.
He says: "Look at me, no mask."
The face-covering-free crusader then strides on, making 'baa' noises at shoppers in the bread aisle.
After selecting a baguette, he approaches another shopper minding their own business saying: "You don't have to wear them masks you know.
"It's compulsory not mandatory. And if they knew they worked, they would have done it four f****** months ago.
"The f****** idiocracy in this country mate."
Pointing his phone at elderly shoppers, he adds: "Smile for the camera, you're all sheep. Baa. Sheep. Baa. Baa. Baa.
"Idiocracy mate. Baaa. Smile for the camera, smile for the camera. Sheep. Baaa. Everyone smile for the camera."
The video, which has since been deleted, provoked a strong reaction when it was posted on Facebook.
One viewer said: "It's disgusting, especially given that some people have had to shield for the past four or five months.
"This guy calling everyone a 'sheep' for wearing a mask when some people haven't been out for months.
"The last thing they need to see is a clown like this. It's fine if he doesn't want to wear one but just don't make a big scene about it.
"He only seems to be bullying the older generation, not the young."
The Government brought in new rules last Friday requiring people to put on face coverings when visiting shops in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus in indoor settings where social distancing is difficult.
Anyone who fails to do so can be fined £100.
