Queensland captain Usman Khawaja has scored a half-century as he combines with Marnus Labuschagne in a Sheffield Shield rescue mission against South Australia.
Test star Labuschagne and his captain Khawaja have steered the Bulls to 2-126 at lunch on day three - two runs behind the Redbacks.
Labuschagne is unbeaten on 43 while Khawaja is not out 50 with the pair cautiously batting throughout Sunday's morning session at Adelaide Oval.
They added 63 runs in the two hours of play in a vital partnership which has steadied the visitors from 2-43.
Labuschagne hit his first ball for four but hasn't reached the boundary from the next 166 balls he's faced, while Khawaja has struck four fours from his 118 balls.
Labuschagne was dropped on 26 when he leg glanced and SA wicketkeeper Alex Carey, diving to his left, just got a glove on the tough catching chance from David Grant's bowling.
The Bulls started their second innings some 128 runs in arrears - they were bowled out for 152 in their first dig, with SA making 280 in reply.
