Bulls guard Ayo Dosunmu buys $2.2 million home after new contract

Over the years, the Chicago Bulls have welcomed plenty of stars who grew up in the city. They picked Derrick Rose with the first pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, and Dwyane Wade even made an appearance for the franchise toward the end of his career. There are even a couple of Chicagoans on the roster right now.

Jevon Carter, who signed a three-year deal with the Bulls this summer, grew up in the Chicago area. Ayo Dosunmu is also from the city, and the Bulls selected him with the eighth pick in the second round of the 2021 NBA Draft. They also re-signed him this summer.

Chicago re-signed Dosunmu to a three-year, $21 million contract, ensuring that he will remain a part of the current Bulls core. And following the move, Dosunmu made sure to find a new place in his hometown.

According to Elite Street of the Chicago Tribune, Dosunmu has purchased a new home in Chicago, and the sale closed at around $2.2 million.

Dosunmu appeared in 80 games for the Bulls last season, starting 51 of them and playing 26.2 minutes per contest. He averaged 8.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game while shooting 49.3% from the floor and 31.2% from behind the three-point line.

The 23-year-old guard will have to compete for rotational minutes next season, though, as the Bulls will have ample depth at the position. Dosunmu, Carter, Coby White, and Alex Caruso will all get minutes, so they will all have to battle for spots in the lineup.

Dosunmu has put down some more roots in the city and is ready for next year.
