Bulls finalizing deal swapping Tony Snell for Bucks guard Michael Carter-Williams

MILWAUKEE _ Isaiah Canaan continued his strong preseason, sinking five 3-pointers and scoring a game-high 25 points in the Bulls' 107-86 comeback exhibition victory over the Bucks at BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Jerian Grant played his second straight solid game, finishing with 13 points and a team-high seven assists. And Spencer Dinwiddie has had his moments as well throughout training camp.

But the battle for reserve guard minutes is expected to get tighter on Monday. League sources said the Bulls and Bucks did business as they played basketball Saturday night, all but finalizing a Tony Snell-for-Michael Carter-Williams swap.

Barring a late snag, a trade call with the league will take place Monday, one source said, capping Snell's underwhelming three seasons after the Bulls used the 20th pick in the 2013 draft on him.

Similarly, Carter-Williams could benefit from a change of scenery. Drafted nine spots ahead of Snell by the 76ers, the 6-foot-6 guard won rookie of the year honors. But the defensive-minded guard never clicked with the Bucks after coach Jason Kidd stated a desire to acquire him in a three-team deal in 2015.

Carter-Williams, who had hip surgery in March, will join the mix to back up Rajon Rondo.
