Bulls' Denzel Valentine to undergo season-ending reconstructive surgery on left ankle

What originally was deemed a moderately sprained ankle for Denzel Valentine will lead to season-ending surgery.

The Bulls announced the news after Monday's practice and media access. Valentine will undergo a surgical reconstruction of his left ankle the week of Nov. 26 and need four to six months of recovery.

It will be the second ankle surgery in three seasons for Valentine, a critical reserve floor spacer, playmaker and leader.

In the release, the Bulls said Valentine is "expected to make a full recovery and have a normal summer of offseason training leading into training camp for the 2019-20 season."
