Bulls deal cold-shooting Warriors second consecutive loss

CHICAGO _ If only the Bulls could play all their regular-season games at home on TNT, they'd be unstoppable.

Winning for the 18th consecutive time at home during the regular season on the network, the Bulls took advantage of the Splash Brothers drowning in a season of missed 3-pointers Thursday at the United Center.

The Bulls prevailed, 94-87, as Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined to shoot 3-for-22 from beyond the arc for the Warriors, who posted a season low in points. It's also the first time since April 2015 the Warriors have lost two straight regular-season games.

Jimmy Butler's 22 points led four in double figures for the Bulls. Bobby Portis had 17 points and 13 rebounds, Dwyane Wade added 12 points and Robin Lopez 10 for the Bulls.

Curry paced the Warriors with 23 points, but shot 10-for-27.

The Warriors know life won't be easy without Kevin Durant. They also know the injury prognosis for their leading scorer could have been worse.

Durant will be re-evaluated in four weeks after sustaining a Grade 2 medial collateral ligament sprain in his left knee and tibial bone bruise in the Warriors' loss at the Wizards on Tuesday night.

"Obviously, it was good news on one hand because it looked really bad the way it kind of bent and we didn't know exactly what was going to happen or what the prognosis was going to be," Curry said. "Obviously, you feel for him and want him to get healthy as fast as possible but not rush it because we have a long journey ahead of us going into the playoffs. We'll be fine. Finish out however long he's out. Next man up mentality but obviously it will be tough to replace a guy like KD."

The Bulls returned Paul Zipser from injury for the matchup Thursday. Zipser hit a huge 3-pointer late and finished with nine points.

Michael Carter-Williams remained out. Their defense has been poor lately, and the Warriors possess the league's top-ranked offense.

"We have to get back in transition," coach Fred Hoiberg said. "That's where it starts."
