CHICAGO _ Otto Porter Jr. required six stitches to close a cut in his mouth after taking an elbow to the jaw on Stanley Johnson's drive to the basket, but he returned in the third quarter of the Bulls' 108-84 loss to the Raptors in Saturday's home opener.
After scoring 125 and 110 points in their first two games, the Bulls went ice cold on offense. Wendell Carter Jr. led two double-figure scorers with 12 points. A day after going off for 37 against the Grizzlies, Zach LaVine scored 11 on 4-of-13 shooting.
The Bulls (1-2) shot 29 for 96 (30.2%) from the field and 9 for 35 (25.7%) on 3-pointers. Lauri Markkanen scored nine points on 3-of-10 shooting, and Coby White scored eight while shooting 3 for 14.
Some of the usual demons did the Bulls in on defense, such as their inability to close out on 3-point shooters. The Raptors made 15 of 42 from behind the arc.
By the fourth quarter, the floodgates were open as the Raptors ran up a 25-point lead early in the period.
Five Raptors scored in double figures, led by Pascal Siakam's 19. Fred VanVleet added 16 points and six assists.
Carter had a game-high 11 rebounds for the Bulls, who lost the board battle 58-46.
