Bulls beat Hawks, 91-86, to avoid 1st 0-4 start in 10 years

CHICAGO _ What's Finnish for dagger?

Despite enduring a rough shooting night, Lauri Markkanen buried a huge 3-pointer with 48.5 seconds left as the Bulls avoided their first 0-4 start since 2007-08 with a 91-86 victory over the Hawks.

The Bulls placed six scorers in double figures. That included David Nwaba's first career double-double (15 points, 11 rebounds) and 11 points from Denzel Valentine in his first NBA start as Paul Zipser sat with a knee contusion.

Markkanen posted his second double-double in four games with 14 points and 13 rebounds as the Bulls outrebounded the Dennis Schroder-less Hawks 62-40.

Robin Lopez scored a team-high 16 points for the Bulls.

Former Bull Marco Belinelli paced the Hawks with 23 points.
