Journalists working for a family-owned newspaper group have been offered the chance to volunteer for redundancy.
Bullivant Media, publisher of 12 weekly newspapers in the Midlands - such as the Bromsgrove Standard, Coventry Observer, Rugby Observer and Worcester Standard - is desperate to cut costs.
The move follows a spate of recent departures, and staff complain that newsrooms are already severely stretched.
One inside source is quoting by HoldTheFrontPage as saying: "Morale is at absolute rock bottom, even lower than when the company sat in administration a couple of years ago."
