Bullish Pep Guardiola makes demand of Man City players ahead of PSG date with destiny

Pep Guardiola has told his Manchester City players to seize their chance to make history tonight by reaching the Champions League final for the first time.

City hold a 2-1 lead over Paris St Germain ahead of the return leg at the Etihad Stadium, with Guardiola confident his players can get the job done.

“I think we’ll do an incredible game and reach the final,” said Guardiola.

“That’s my feeling, but if the other team are better, we'll congratulate them and move on.

“But we don’t want to miss this opportunity to do a good game and I’ve a feeling we're going to do well.

“We know what we have to do, we’ve done it for many months this season and all we have to do is do it again.

“PSG are an extraordinary team, everyone knows it. But I don’t want to be too concerned with their qualities. We know how good they are, but we know how good we can be.

“We have to go out there to win this game, no more than that.”

City came from 1-0 down to score twice in Paris in a stunning second-half comeback, but Guardiola told his players they will suffer against the French champions tonight.

“You can't play 90 minutes like we played the second-half,” said Guardiola. “It's not going to happen, it will be tough, we will suffer.

“But I'm sure we'll react well and impose ourselves.

“It's no different from what we've done over the last eight months, we don't demand anything special.

“We have to do what we've done this season, in the bad moments stay calm, take the ball, try to regain our momentum and try to win the game.

“The difference will be how big our good moments are. After that, it belongs to the players, the desire to do something nice for us, to make a step forward and win the game.”
