Brisbane have moved swiftly to replace Andrej Lemanis, appointing ex-Sydney Kings assistant James Duncan as the NBL club's new head coach.
Duncan, who has been with the Kings for the past two seasons, has signed a two-year deal with the Bullets.
He replaces long-time coach Lemanis, who announced in May he was leaving after five-years at the helm.
The fomer Boomers coach joined the Bullets upon its return into the NBL competition ahead of the 2016-17 season, but has left to take up a big-money offer to coach in Japan.
Duncan played professionally in Germany before embarking on a coaching career in 2007 that has taken him to Europe, Asia and Australia.
The 43-year-old Canadian is understood to have impressed the Bullets in his initial interview, getting the nod ahead of current Bullets assistant CJ Bruton and Boomers assistant Adam Caporn.
Transforming the Bullets into a leading contender will be Duncan's first challenge after they finished sixth this season to miss out on the finals.
"The game is played on both ends of the floor but we'll demand a consistent effort and focus on defence," Duncan said.
"We will be purposeful and disciplined, which I feel is needed to beat the top teams."
Duncan will officially take up his new role on July 1.
