Bulldogs snare Huntington as AFLW's number one draft

The Western Bulldogs have snapped up Isabel Huntington as the AFLW number one draft pick.

In a ceremony delayed by a power outage at Docklands, the Bulldogs added Huntington and pick number four Monique Conti to their ranks.

"She's really versatile, can play down back, midfield, up forward where she'll potentially support [Katie Brennan]," Bulldogs coach Paul Grove said.

"Really excited to get [Conti] into the midfield … [and] continue the Melbourne Uni link," he added.

Stephanie Cain was re-drafted by the Fremantle Dockers at pick number two after she was delisted at the end of last season.

"She chooses herself to be here today, she's worked really hard and deserves it," Fremantle's Michelle Cowan said.

Diamond Creek key forward Chloe Molloy was picked at number three, following an outstanding year as leading goal-kicker in the VFLW.

Belconnen Magpies' Jodie Hicks went at pick five to the Giants, while Melbourne opted for Vic Country's Eden Zanker at pick six.

Last year's grand finalists Brisbane nabbed Jordan Zanchetta, while defending premiers Adelaide got ruck Jessica Allen from the Salisbury Football Club.
