Bull on the loose in Knowsley leads to police call out

Motorists were shocked to see a bull on the loose in Knowsley last night.

Officers were called out to Croxteth Hall Lane at around 11.20pm last night ( Thursday) following reports that the animal was roaming near to the road.

A local farmer managed to move the bull back into a nearby field. The animal did not cause any injuries or damage, police said.

Police released a photograph on social media which showed the animal at the side of the road.

Police shared a statement on social media which read: "At 11.20pm last night officers were called to Croxteth Hall Lane following a report of a bull on the loose. Thankfully, the bull saw sense once the local farmer arrived and was mooooved back into his field.

"No one injured and no damage caused."

Like the police, commenters on social media saw the funny side of the story.

One said: "You are talking a load of bull now."

Another added: "Pull the udder one."
