Bull Island beach cleaners find rubber duck washed up on shore after 6 year journey

A beach clean-up group in Dublin discovered a pink rubber duck that washed up on Bull Island after a six year journey.

The 'little quacker' had been floating around in the sea since October 15, 2016 when a fundraising event saw 10,000 rubber ducks being released into the River Liffey.

The discovery was made by Bull Island Action Group who donated the pink duck to Flossie and the Beach Cleaners for their children's workshop.

Sharing pictures of the duck, Flossie said on Facebook: "Come in no: 1797 … this little ‘quacker’ has been floating around in the sea since 15th October 2016…

"Our ‘besties’ @bullislandactiongroup1 found this and kindly gave it to us for use in our kids' workshops.

"@pfizerinc @mariekeatingfoundation great idea for a fundraiser but some ducks escaped!"
