Bulky waste collection in Belfast resumes

Belfast City Council has resumed collection of bulky household waste items.

From Monday June 1st, the council is accepting requests for collection of sofas and mattresses, and all types of waste electronic and electrical equipment.

However, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic the service will be limited, with new control measures to ensure the safety of the public and staff.

Temporary arrangements are in place - a maximum of three items will only be collected per household, and items must be left out 72 hours before collection.

The council is asking residents to cover items like mattresses with waterproof material. Coverings will be taken away as part of the collection.

The council states it continues to review the service delivery with the aim of adding other bulky household waste items to the collection list, as circumstances allow.

To book a bulky waste collection, ring 028 9027 0230.
