Bukayo Saka is not happy with how Arsenal started their Europa League defeat to Villarreal.
The Gunners left Castellon with a 2-1 defeat, taking home an away goal thanks to a Nicolas Pepe penalty, but they were two goals behind within 30 minutes thanks to goals from Manu Trigueros and Raul Albiol.
Mikel Arteta 's men started the game in sluggish fashion and paid the price, returning with a deficit ahead of the second leg at the Emirates Stadium next Thursday.
And after the game, Saka, who won the penalty to give Arsenal hope heading into the second leg, was not happy with how he and his teammates started the semi-final clash.
He told BT Sport: "Yeah there's a lot of positives which all came in the second half but like I said it's the semi-final of the Europa League and to start the game like this it's impossible to have a chance of scoring you know we didn't create anything, we lost every duel, we were passive.
"It's really frustrating to look back on it but I'm just happy that in the second half we picked ourselves up and we got a good chance and we managed to score so we gave ourselves a chance at the Emirates"
Despite losing, Saka thinks Arsenal showed they are 'the better team' against Villarreal, who dominated the first half before things got a little chaotic in the second with both teams having a man sent off.
"Yeah 100% we definitely showed that we're better than them, even with 10 men we were dominating them," he added.
"So it's up to us, it's always up to us, we have a team full of quality players and when we play properly we can beat anyone and we showed that today."
The second leg is penned in for Thursday, May 6, when Arsenal can progress with a 1-0 home win.
