Bukayo Saka reveals Trent Alexander-Arnold predicted stunning England volley in North Macedonia win

Bukayo Saka says Trent Alexander-Arnold told him he would deliver a stunning assist before the Arsenal forward scored his second of three goals for England on Monday night.

For the first time in his career, Saka bagged a hat-trick as the Three Lions sailed to a 7-0 win over North Macedonia at Old Trafford.

The 21-year-old formed part of a devastating front line alongside Harry Kane and Marcus Rashford, with the former scoring twice and the latter striking once.

Alexander-Arnold, meanwhile, continued in the midfield role he impressed in during Friday’s win over Malta.

During that win, the Liverpool star dug out a brilliant ball to tee up Saka to cross before a Malta player bundled the ball into his own net.

On Monday, the partnership went one better. Alexander-Arnold played a defence-splitting pass over the North Macedonian backline before Saka latched on a launched a sizzling volley into the back of the net.

Of his connection with Alexander-Arnold, Saka told Channel 4: "He’s a top player. At half-time he said to me he was going to do that pass.

“When I scored I was looking for him to thank him. I didn’t have to break my stride.

"It’s been a really long season. It’s the end of the season now. I couldn’t have ended it in a better way. Time to relax and have a break.
