Bukayo Saka reacts on Instagram after signing new Arsenal contract and thanks Unai Emery

Bukayo Saka has thanked Unai Emery after signing his new Arsenal contract.

The Gunners wonderkid, whose previous contract was set to expire at the end of next season, ended all speculation regarding his future by penning a new deal.

An announcement of Saka committing his future to the north London outfit came just hours before the Premier League clash against Norwich City.

The teenager has been named on the bench for the game, but he's made sure to thank all those who have helped him progress from the youth player to a fully-fledged first-team member.

"For starters, I just want to say I have to mention Unai Emery for the amount he believed in me, the opportunity he gave me, I’ll forever be grateful," Saka said.

"And then of course, Freddie Ljungberg, who has always gone out of his way to advise me and make sure I’m improving every day.

"These are the coaches I’ve played under before, but Mikel, he’s just amazing you know.

"He manages to give so much detail, while at the same time being so clear. It’s just amazing to have such a great coach.

"The future looks bright, and that’s why I’m happy to be here."

Saka made his first-team debut under Emery last season, coming on as a substitute in a 3-0 Europa League win over Vorskla.

Ironically that was on November 29, 2018 and exactly one year later the Spaniard was sacked as Arsenal head coach, but the teenager hasn't forgotten his contributions.

Saka also took to Instagram after signing his new deal.

"London is my home. Arsenal my team," he posted. "That’s why I’m so happy to finally announce my contract extension.

"I love playing for this club and I’m looking forward to what the future holds. The hard work continues so I can continue living my dream. God is Great!!
