Bukayo Saka has had his say on Brighton centre-back Ben White as a potential £50m transfer from the Amex to the Emirates draws nearer.
The 23-year-old defender has been turning heads with his performances for the Seagulls in the Premier League, and it turns out his England team-mates at St George's Park have been paying attention to his talents too.
White was brought into Gareth Southgate's 26-man squad following an injury to Liverpool's Trent Alexander-Arnold, having impressed in England's warm-up matches against Austria and Romania.
He has yet to feature for the Three Lions in the tournament, though his performances in training have caught the eye.
Asked by ITV Sport's Gabriel Clarke which member of the squad had surprised him the most during the tournament, Saka was quick to identify White.
"Earlier I said I was impressed the most by Ben White," said Saka, who was praised for his own performance for England in their final group stage match against the Czech Republic on Tuesday.
"I haven't seen him a lot this season, but coming here and training with him, I've been impressed with him."
And it wasn't just Saka who picked out White as a surprise package, with Man City ace Phil Foden also admiring the performances of the defender in training.
"I haven't really seen a lot of Ben, but he's coming and I thought he's been brilliant in training. So I would probably say Ben White," said Foden.
White himself is keeping a cool head about his transfer speculation, saying: "You don't know what's true and what's not. So, there's no real point talking about it."
