Bukayo Saka has hailed Arsenal teammate Emile Smith Rowe following the excellent breakthrough from the 20-year-old, who has followed his fellow Hale End graduate into the first-team frame.
Smith Rowe has started Arsenal's last nine Premier League matches, the first of which came in the Boxing Day victory over Chelsea where he registered an assist.
That has seen the creative midfielder establish himself as a core member of Mikel Arteta's squad and a candidate to take the number 10 shirt following Mesut Ozil's January exit.
Smith Rowe has quickly become an Arsenal favourite and his partnership with Saka has been a particular highlight so far this season.
Three of Saka's last four Premier League goals have been assisted by Smith Rowe, with the pair developing a partnership that could thrive long into the future.
Now, Saka has spoken about how impressed he has been with his fellow youngster and hailed his impact in the squad.
“[He has] settled in perfectly, he was patient for his opportunity and I think he deserved it. When he got it he took it and showed the impact he can make for the team," he told the Premier League's official YouTube channel.
“He’s a livewire across the pitch, he’s everywhere, he will run into space, pass into space and create opportunities for all of us. I love playing with him and I’m really happy with what he’s done in the team since he’s come in.”
Arsenal are reportedly preparing a lucrative new contract for Smith Rowe, who sees his current deal at the club run until 2023.
The midfielder has registered five assists and netted two goals in 15 appearances for Arsenal across all competitions this term.
