Arsenal starlet Bukayo Saka has spoken of his delight on continuing his 'dream' at the club after being tied down to a new long-term deal.
The 18-year-old was due to see his current deal expire at the end of next season and there had been concerns that he could become the latest star to slip through the net.
However, those fears were put to an end today as the teenager penned a new long-term deal to extend his stint at the Emirates Stadium and he had no intention of moving elsewhere.
"Thank God for this, it's a really proud moment for me and my family. I've been at Arsenal from the age of eight, we've not only been working hard every day to get to this moment but we've also been dreaming of this moment," he told BT Sport.
"It's so special to sign my contract extension and to continue living my dream to play for this amazing club. I started with my Dad every day, he'd pick me up, we'd make the journey. It was long, it was tough, but my Dad gave it his all. It means so much to me. Every time I put on an Arsenal shirt I remember this.
"I believe in my heart that this is my club, this is where I want to be. I'm enjoying my football under the coaching staff and Mikel Arteta, I believe in his philosophy and I believe he's taken my game to the next level.
"I think it's only right that I stay and see how much he can develop me, how much he can develop the team because I'm excited for the future and what he is building."
Arsenal legend Martin Keown spoke about the importance of Saka and the young players in the squad, praising his impact so far.
"It's fantastic news. It's really important that these youngsters sign these contracts. He's a player who you feel steps up when Arsenal are struggling," he told BT Sport.
"He's such a young player but he plays with real maturity so it's key they got him to sign that contract today. Unfortunately, he's sat on the bench but I understand that too.
"They've played more games than anyone else, they've got the cup competition, but it's a really difficult moment for Arsenal as a club. It's great to be in the semi-final but to find themselves in this position in the table, it certainly wasn't part of the plan and the beginning of the season."
