Bukayo Saka and Cedric return, Alexandre Lacazette rests - Arsenal predicted team vs Aston Villa

Mikel Arteta isn't just satisfied with beating Liverpool and Manchester City, but is intent on carrying this moment through Arsenal's final three games in all competitions this season.

"I don't want that mindset. It does matter to us because I want to win both games like they do and the players to with that urgency and aggresiveness for that game." he said when it was suggested that facing Aston Villa didn't matter.

Although there were no bad performances in the FA Cup semi-final, rotation will be necessary with a place in the final booked. With there still being a chance of qualifying for the Europa League through their league position, however, the side Arteta puts out at Villa Park must be strong.

Emi Martinez has continued to prove his worth in goal. Despite not being showered with shots through the win over City, his concentration was key in maintaining the clean sheet and seeing Arsenal through - he starts again.

As for the back three, Shkodran Mutafi having to be assessed before the game [hamstring] naturally sees him drop to the bench.

Rob Holding will take his place and return to a back three which will still include David Luiz and Kieran Tierney as the left-sided centre-back.

Looking at the wing-back situation, both Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles deserve rests after their displays at Wembley. This will see Cedric Soares return as the right wing-back, where he has impressed for the most part.

Bukayo Saka will come back into the side as the left-wing back. Although he didn't get as much licence to roam forward against Liverpool, Arsenal should have more of the ball against Villa which will play into his hands down the left.

Granit Xhaka's deeper role in the Arsenal midfield sees him expend less energy than Dani Ceballos so the Spaniard will be rested. Lucas Torreira will come into the side to build on his performance against Liverpool.

Nicolas Pepe and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will keep their places in the starting XI. Rotation may be best for the pair but Watford on Sunday may be a better time to rest them ahead of the FA Cup final. Having started Arsenal's last three games, Alexandre Lacazette will be rested as Eddie Nketiah returns to the side following his three-match ban.

Arteta addressed the issue of rotation ahead of the game, in his pre-match press conference : "We've been changing quite a lot in the last few games because the schedule we had was pretty hectic and as well because everybody has been training so well and [are] very involved and they needed opportunities," he added.

"They make me doubt [who to pick] all the time because they are performing well."

Predicted Arsenal XI: Martinez; Holding, Luiz, Tierney; Cedric, Torreira, Xhaka, Saka; Pepe, Nketiah, Aubameyang
