'Built like Diego Costa'- Chelsea fans delighted with what Armando Broja did for Southampton

Chelsea fans were delighted to see Armando Broja score his first Premier League goal for Southampton in their clash against Leeds on Saturday afternoon.

Broja, 20, took the chance many west London fans were hoping for as Ralph Hasenhuttl decided to reward the ex-Vitesse Arnhem loanee with his first Premier League start and that decision reaped the rewards that many Blues fans expected it would.

After a relatively quiet opening 45 minutes at St Mary's in the battle between the Saints and Leeds, Nathan Redmond's great work to get on the attack eventually resulted in Broja firing home from close range.

His double in an 8-0 EFL Cup win against Newport in August coupled with the consistent goals on the international stage for Albania have led to supporters of the west London club believing that the 20-year-old could be their next Diego Costa in the long term.

Here's the best of the reaction from the fans of the European Champions on Twitter, following the explosion that came as a consequence of seeing their future star net in the red and white strips of Southampton.

Chelsea loan striker Armando Broja has proven Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl wrong and Blues fans right with what he did in Saints' clash with Leeds United in the Premier League (Chelsea fans)

@efo_phil has made a brave comparison: 'Broja is built like Diego Costa. What a player for the future [followed by two flame emojis].'

@tfcjack_ has predicted: 'Broja will become Chelsea's all-time top scorer.'

@Tariq_St_Patrik questioned: 'Broja definitely has a future at Chelsea. 2nd choice next season???'

@ChelseaOkyeame tweeted: 'Armando Broja is a certified baller. Chelsea have a gem of a player.'

@surennnn11 gave his one-word verdict: 'STARBOYYYYYY.'

@Bregu_ demanded: 'Chelsea get broja back to the bridge now.'

@Blue_Footy instantly put: 'Broja!!!'

This moment will come as a relief for the player himself, who will be hoping to continue to prove current manager Hasenhuttl wrong in the process, with the German boss delivering his honest thoughts on the striker ahead of the game.

Hasenhuttl state as per Hampshire Live: "Armando showed that he, as a sub, has a very good impact in games - against Newcastle he did a good job.

"But from the beginning, against Sheffield United, he didn’t play well and for Albania he’s always coming from the bench. I think he’s a very good sub.

"I don’t know if he is immediately ready for 90 minutes from the beginning. He’s a player who has to work hard to get a performance for 90 minutes on the pitch."
