Buildings and landmarks in Nottingham are being illuminated in pink and blue to mark Baby Loss Awareness Week.
Lights at buildings including the Queen’s Medical Centre and the Council House will shine each evening from October 9 to 15 as part of a display of support nationally for those that have suffered the tragic loss of their baby.
The annual awareness week is an opportunity for all those affected by the loss of a baby including parents, families and friends, to commemorate babies’ lives.
Here is a list of the buildings across Nottinghamshire that will be illuminated during the week.
Nottingham’s Maternity Units
The Maternity Units at Nottingham City Hospital and Queen’s Medical Centre will both be lit up.
The NUH Family Health Bereavement Team includes specialist midwives and nurses, who provide support to families at any stage of the pregnancy or post-birth. The Team works with charities dedicated to supporting families.
Rushcliffe Arena
Rushcliffe Arena is being illuminated in vibrant pink and blue lighting.
Lights in the roof above the facility and Rushcliffe Borough Council offices will shine brightly to welcome visitors as they arrive after dusk each evening.
Chief Executive of Rushcliffe Borough Council Kath Marriott said: “As Rushcliffe Arena once again lights up for Baby Loss Awareness Week, we hope that the pink and blue will foster conversations about baby loss and give local bereaved parents and families an opportunity to talk about their experiences.
“Each year, this week serves as an important opportunity to break the silence surrounding baby loss.”

Theatre Royal and Concert Hall
Corner House
Wollaton Hall
St Mary’s Church

A W Lymn The Family Funeral Service (various branches)
