CALA Homes has announced that it is looking to expand its region into Nottingham, and has appointed Nottingham-based James Turner as its area land director as evidence of its committment.
James will spearhead the firm’s drive to acquire more sites in aspirational locations across the East Midlands with a strategic focus on the M1 corridor between Milton Keynes and Nottinghamshire.
Mark Wright, regional managing director for the Midlands, said: "We will be investing significantly in new sites in the East Midlands over the next two to three years and having someone of James’ calibre on board will help ensure we meet our growth ambitions.
The move is something of a homecoming for James who first joined CALA as a land graduate in 2001. He now has nearly 20 years in the industry, and was most recently head of land at Avant Homes.
He said: "I’m incredibly excited to be joining CALA at a time when the Midlands region is looking for considerable growth in a patch I know so well.
"CALA has an enviable reputation for the quality of its properties and its sensitive approach to development. Our focus will be on sites in premium locations with strong commuter links and access to good local schools and facilities."
The firm is also looking to recruit a new land manager.
Mark added: "We look forward to expanding our business in the region, working closely with landowners and local planners to bring forward sustainable sites for development and making a positive contribution to the local communities in which we build.”
