Builder appointed for multi-million social Glasgow housing development

Housing association Ng Homes has appointed Cruden Building to carry out a multi-million pound housing development project in the north east of Glasgow.

The £7.2 million contract will see 49 flats being developed along with a commercial unit in a new buiilding on the site of the former Springburn Burgh Halls.

The development, which is due to complete in 2021, will provide 49 energy efficient flats, 21 of which will be available on a mid-market rental basis with the remaining 28 homes for social rental.

Cruden Building managing director Allan Callaghan said: “We are delighted to work with ng homes on the redevelopment of this site to provide much needed housing for the area and a commercial space.

“As with all Cruden Group developments, we will also support the local residents by providing a range of community benefits including valuable jobs and training opportunities during the build.”
