Buffalo (0-0) vs. Robert Morris (0-0) Game Preview
After closing out last season with a resounding thud, and after losing a slew of the key parts – at least on offense – Buffalo needs a light and breezy layup before going to Penn State. Last year the Bulls shoved around Delaware State 48-10, and this year’s team has something to prove.
The Colonels of Robert Morris are coming off a rough 2-9 season, but they have an interesting enough offense to keep this from being a walk in the park for UB.
Why Robert Morris Will Win
There should be enough of a passing game to keep on pushing. TE Matthew Gonzalez is coming off a 12-touchdown season as part of a dangerous receiving trio coming back. The quarterback situation might not be in place quite yet, but the offense has a decent line and it should be able to move the chains. For all of the team’s problems last year, it hit on its third down conversions. That should continue this year.
Why Buffalo Will Win
The Bulls should be able to move the offense any way they want to. Even with QB Tyree Jackson and the top receivers gone, new QB Kyle Vantrease should be able to bomb away against a leaky Colonel secondary. Everyone will get time to work – Robert Morris won’t be able to get into the backfield.
The Bull line is among the MAC’s best and will keep Vantrease clean, Jaret Patterson will run for 100 yards, and the offense should be able to set a pace the Colonel attack won’t be able to match.

What’s Going To Happen
Even with the new parts, this will still be a devastating UB offense that has something to prove. Robert Morris really does have enough weapons to move the chains, but it’ll stall just enough to allow the Bulls to pull away. The UB lines will take over in the second half to make this a rout.
