TEAM NEEDS

Wide Receiver
The Bills have spent a majority of this offseason accumulating talent around quarterback Josh Allen. They have completely rebuilt the offensive line and added two veteran receivers in Cole Beasley and John Brown. The next step in helping Allen improve is adding a big and physical receiver who can play on the outside. Adding a player who can win contested catches and play physical would go a long way towards Allen’s development.
Tight End
Like I mentioned in the blurb before, the Bills need to continue adding weapons to help Josh Allen. Another way to do that would be by adding a pass catching tight end to the mix. Charles Clay played fairly poor last season and the team could stand to add a young and athletic upgrade in this rather loaded tight end draft class.
Defensive Tackle
The Bills have a ton of run stuffing defensive tackles already on the roster with players like Harrison Phillips, Star Lotulelei, and Jordan Phillips. They lack that pass rushing upside that could really transform a defense though. With the retirement of fan favorite Kyle Williams last year and no clear pass rusher from the interior, the Bills should be looking to take a defensive tackle early in this draft.
Running Back
Between Frank Gore and LeSean McCoy, the Bills have the oldest running back duo in the league by a good bit. They could stand to add an athletic back with starter upside later in the draft. McCoy and Gore aren’t going to last forever, well maybe Gore is, and McCoy has had his fair share of injuries in recent seasons. Adding another back to the fold who brings plus athleticism would be wise on their part.
Offensive Line
Despite signing more than five offensive lineman this offseason, the Bills should still look to investing in the group. Last year was a bad example of what happens when you don’t draft and develop lineman. The line should be much improved in 2019 with the additions of Spencer Long, Mitch Morse, Ty Nsekhe, and Quinton Spain but it wouldn’t hurt to look to the future and still consider drafting lineman in this class.
TOP TARGETS

Ed Oliver | DL | Houston
The best in this class for the Bills is Ed Oliver. He is an insane athlete who would provide immediate pass rush help from the interior. He was misused in his time at Houston which kept his stats a bit lower than what they would’ve been somewhere else. Overall though, he has the strength and athletic upside to be a superstar for a team like the Bills.
T.J. Hockenson | TE | Iowa
The Bills need help at tight end and need more blockers up front. So why not add the best blocking tight end in the class and one of the better receiving threats all in one pick? Hockenson is a really solid player who can change the dynamics of the offense. He has the ability to not only help the running game but also be a major asset for Josh Allen in the passing game too.
Kelvin Harmon | WR | North Carolina State
Of all the receivers in this class, Harmon may fit the Bills the most. Despite not being a high caliber athlete, he is excellent in contested catch situations and bailing his quarterback out. Allen is a good young quarterback but his struggles so far in his career have been with inaccurate passes. Adding a receiver like Harmon who can make tough catches look easy would really help further the young quarterback’s development.
