Buell’s Super Cruiser Finally Hits Production With Shocking Specs and a Price To Match

Those of you who've been patiently waiting for Buell's Super Cruiser, I commend you. You've been eagerly anticipating its arrival since February 2023—more than two and a half years—since the official announcement, and God knows how long since the rumors started. Now, you're about to find out if the wait was worth it.

The 2026 Super Cruiser has gone from concept to officially being in the production phase of the model, putting an end to doubts that this unit would ever see concrete. It was only recently that Buell began completing the first Super Cruisers, completing VIN 0001 on September 26, 2025. Anyone who was hoping to get their hands on VIN 0001 of the brand's milestone model will be disappointed, however.

After the very first production Super Cruiser goes on display at the Barber Motorsports Museum during Barber Vintage Festival from October 3-5, 2025, it'll be formally dedicated and delivered to the museum upon final federal certifications.

“These hand-built machines are a true blend of performance and art,” said Bill Melvin, CEO of Buell Motorcycle Co. “We’re proud of the talented team whose dedication and craftsmanship transformed the Super Cruiser from a bold concept into a production motorcycle.”

It's all fine and well to hear phrases like a "blend of performance and art" from the CEO, but just how performance-oriented is the Super Cruiser? Well, it looks like a lot. Powering this beast is the 1190cc V-twin, liquid-cooled motor that Buell enthusiasts have come to know and love, and it'll be pumping out 175 HP and a colossal 94 lb-ft of torque at 8,500 rpm. Helping keep everything under control during aggressive downshifting is a hydraulically actuated clutch and a vacuum-operated slipper.

The rest of the bike supports the "Super" side of the Super Cruiser, too. At the front, you'll find FOX inverted forks leading down to Brembo dual-rotor 320mm disc brakes—purists might be horrified to lose the singular perimeter brake setup, but when you're trying to bring this 485 lb (no fuel) beast to a stop, I think most will be glad. At the rear, you'll find a FOX single shock without linkage.

The Super Cruiser has a maximum lean angle of 50 degrees, which I find both terrifying and exciting at the prospect of experiencing on a bike with these ergonomics. But having personal experience with the Dunlop SportMax Q5As that this model rolls on would certainly give me the confidence to push on to get the pegs closer and closer to the ground. If the specs and pictures have got you ready to throw a leg over, just know you'll have a bit longer to wait because of Buell's deliberately slow and steady ramping up of production.

“We’ve chosen a deliberate path of ramping up production slow and steady to ensure every machine lives up to its promise and every rider feels that unmistakable Buell connection the moment they twist the throttle,” said Jason Anderson, Manufacturing and Quality Director at Buell Motorcycle Co.

Now that the Super Cruiser has entered production, customer deliveries are set to begin following the completion of the final federal Certifications. Customers who placed a sales order for the Super Cruiser will be contacted within the next two to four months to configure financing and arrange delivery once these approvals are secured. If you're prepared to pay the $25,900 MSRP and ready to place a $1,000 deposit for the Buell Super Cruiser, follow this link.
