Budweiser make special delivery to Marine ahead of Tottenham Hotspur FA Cup tie

Budweiser delivered a changing room beer fridge to Marine this week ahead of their FA Cup third round tie with Tottenham Hotspur.

Marine goalkeeper Bayleigh Passant was forced to visit the local Co-op in full kit after victory over Havant and Waterlooville in the previous stage and Budweiser wanted to 'honour' the achievements of the eighth-tier Crosby club.

Neil Young has guided his side to seven victories in the FA Cup this term and the 161-place gap between the Mariners and top-flight Tottenham is the biggest in history at this stage of the competition.

Budweiser have promised Marine season-ticket-holders free beers to watch the game at home on Sunday as well as supplying the club with drinks for the rest of the year.

Marine captain Niall Cummins, who scored the winning goal against Havant, said: "Whatever happens against Spurs, we’re going to celebrate. But we’re not just there to show up.

"This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we’re determined to make the most of it and leave the pitch with no regrets.

"We owe it to everyone cheering us on from home, especially as our league campaign has been so disrupted this year.

"Even if the odds of pulling off a result are a million to one, we have to remember - there’s still the one.”

Senior brand manager of Budweiser Amar Singh added: “We wanted to honour Marine’s achievements to date. They have well and truly earned their right to take on Tottenham.

"The ambition, passion and determination shown by everyone around the club, in the face of so many challenges this season, should be as much an inspiration to fans across the country as any number of trophies won or records broken by more well-known players."
