Budget survey: Tell us what Rishi Sunak's plans mean for you - from furlough to taxes

The Mirror has launched a survey to find out your opinions about the 2021 Budget.

In some ways the economic announcements were a departure from Conservative policy of the past 11 years.

Rishi Sunak announced he would increase corporation tax and extend the £20-a-week Universal Credit uplift for six more months.

This is a far cry from the low-tax, low benefit Budgets of the austerity years.

The Chancellor will also be freezing income tax thresholds.

A large part of the Budget was geared towards cutting the deficit following a year of big government spending.

The UK economy is expected to  return to its pre-Covid level  by the middle of next year, and it is forecast to be 3% smaller than it would have been otherwise in five years’ time.

The furlough scheme is being extended until the end of September,  duty on alcohol and fuel  will be frozen this year, and the minimum wage will increase by 19p an hour to £8.91 for over-23s.

Announcing the £65 billion spending package, Mr Sunak extended the stamp duty holiday until the end of June, as well as the  VAT cut for tourism and hospitality  businesses.

We want to know what you think on a series of key points from today's Budget.

For example, do you think it is a good idea to extend the furlough scheme until September?

Is raising the contactless payment limit on cards to £100 a good way to get people spending, or a security risk?

Has enough be done to support self-employed people in the coming few months?

If the survey has got your opinion giving juices flowing, then let us know what you thought of the Budget as a whole in the comments below.
