Budget skincare under £5 that will give you that 'spa day' glow this summer

With expensive facials and treatments on hold for now, we're all trying our best to get that 'spa day' glow at home, but without breaking the bank.

Skincare is something that can be very hit and miss depending on your skin type but if you want to try new products without paying a fortune then we've got just the range for you.

Lidl Northern Ireland has launched a selection of skincare saviours to look after your skin this summer including a new range of Cien Hydro Expert skincare with prices starting at just £1.99 – allowing for luxury skincare at any budget.

We put some of them to the test and have been amazed by the results.

Our top pick is the Cien Hydro Expert Aqua Gel (£3.99). If you're in the market for an extremely light feeling mosituriser then this has to be on your shopping list. It also feels cool on the skin which is perfect for under light makeup during the hot, humid summer days.

It also contains hyaluronic sodium which we all know usually costs the earth in beauty products but Lidl's fragrance-free version is a snip of the usual beauty counter prices and it definitely leaves your skin feeling fresh and mositurised.

Micellar water is another amazing skincare must have. If like me some nights the struggle is just too real to indulge your usually beauty routine before bed then Micelllar water is the perfect solution. It cleans your skin, removes makeup and even removes sweat, toxins and the accumulation of dry skin caused by lifestyle factors such as moisture-draining home-heating, at-home workouts and even too much sugar! Not to mention Lidl's Cien Hydro Expert Micellar Water is just £1.99!

Sheet masks are a huge beauty trend at the moment and now you can treat your skin every night to one if you wish without blowing your budget. Lidl have a great range of Cien Sheet Masks for all skin types. Our favourite was the mositurising mask which contains cucumber which left our skin feeling baby smooth. You can choose from moisturising, purifying, anti-age and anti-wrinkle available for just 49p!

And while we're on the subject of looking after your skin, please, please wear an SPF every day, we implore you! I know we don't get a lot of direct sunshine here in NI but even on cloudy days your skin is being damaged from UV rays.

Lidl also have an incredible range of Cien suncream, perfect high quality protection at low prices and there is something in the range for the whole family.

The Kids Sun Spray in SPF 50 is just £1.89 and comes in a handy mist spray bottle which parents will appreciate is a major time (and tantrum!) saviour if you've ever struggled with a toddler to put on sun cream. The range also includes handy travel size bottles perfect if you manage to get away this summer or just popping in the bag for a local picnic or walk.

You can check out Lidl's full skincare range in store now.
