Buddy Murphy is riding the biggest wave of his WWE career to date since joining forces with Seth Rollins and the Authors of Pain.
That's saying something for a man who lifted the company's Cruiserweight Championship before 70,000 of his hometown fans in Melbourne, Australia, less than two years ago.
After teaming with Rollins last month, the 31-year-old became a Raw Tag Team Champion with a surprise win over formidable duo The Viking Raiders.
It marked another massive high point for the star, who beforehand had suffered three straight losses during a series of scintillating matches with Aleister Black.
For Murphy, finding a solid position in WWE has been a long and winding road, but he's stayed on course.
His ability to knuckle down and focus on the prize is what brought him his first burst of success in the 205 Live division, showing impressive commitment by dropping 30lbs to make the weight.
But following an uncertain move from SmackDown (where he held his own with Roman Reigns) to Raw, he could have been forgiven for expressing some frustration on social media.
Instead, the 31-year-old chose to wow fans in those performances against Black, making the actual result near inconsequential.
It was all worth the effort, since Buddy is now considered by WWE management to be worthy of hanging with a former world champion like Rollins, as we enter season.
Talking exclusively to Mirror Sport's Scott Felstead, he revealed that his focus comes from how seriously he takes his craft.
He said: "I think, I really enjoy the athletic performance of sports entertainment. It's weird. My mentality is that it's real. Like, I'm going in there to fight for my life and even when I was doing the independent circuit in Australia, I liked waking up the next day and feeling sore. I like to feel kinda like a superhero you know? I can take those blows and keep moving forward.
"The in-ring aspect of it is what I pride myself on. I want to produce a quality that no one else can.
"Every time I step in the ring you get 150% from me, whether it's for two minutes, or 10 minutes, or 25 minutes. You know that when my music goes off and that bell rings, you're getting the best of the best."
When it comes to getting feedback from the higher-ups at WWE, including WWE chairman Vince McMahon himself, Murphy knows exactly what he doesn't want to hear.
"Vince is there [at Raw] every week, sitting right next to Paul [Heyman], so when I hear something from Paul, I hear something from Vince," he says.
"Vince has always been awesome, everything he's told me, I've taken on board.
"I'm my own biggest critic, so I don't want to hear the things I did good, I want to hear the things that I did bad, because I can only get better by improving on the things I did bad, or not so well, so I'm more interested in hearing those things and that's what they [Vince and Paul] are providing me with.
"I don't need to be told something was really good, If I am already doing it."
Once known as WWE's 'Best Kept Secret', Murphy is going to need a new moniker since UK fans can now catch all the action on free-to-air television, following the announcement that WWE highlights are set to be shown Saturdays and Sundays on Channel 5.
