Buddha makes flying visit in Kyoto

A drone carrying a statue of Buddha hovers in the air at Ryuganji temple in Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto, on Friday. With the aim of familiarizing young people with Buddhism, chief priest Ryuho Ikeguchi organized this demonstration to represent Buddha coming down to this world. Three drones, each carrying a 10-centimeter-tall statue, were watched by about 60 visitors. After landing, a sutra was chanted to techno music.
