Budda Baker is 2nd-team All-Pro for 2021 season

The Arizona Cardinals had a successful 2021 season, going 11-6 and making the postseason for the first time since 2015. However, with the announcement of the 2021 AP All-Pro team, they did not have anyone make the first team.

They do have one player who made the second team — safety Budda Baker.

He was the only player on the roster to receive any All-Pro votes at all.

50 writers vote for a certain number of players as their All-Pro selections at each position. Writers select two safeties and the two with the highest vote totals are the first-team All-Pros. Tennessee’s Kevin Byard was first with 41 votes and Buffalo’s Jordan Poyer received 12. They were the two first-team All-Pro safeties.

Baker was tied for the third-most votes with Denver’s Justin Simmons and Buffalo’s Micah Hyde. Each had 10 votes, so all three were on the All-Pro second team (which goes to the next two players with the most votes).

Baker finishes the season with 98 tackles, six tackles for loss and a career-high three interceptions. He tied his career-highs with two sacks and seven pass breakups.

He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the third straight season and for the fourth time in his career.
