Bucs to Re-Sign CB Jamel Dean, per Report

The Buccaneers are keeping one of their key defenders in town, having reportedly agreed to re-sign star cornerback Jamel Dean, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport

ESPN’s Adam Schefter indicates that Dean is in agreement with Tampa Bay on a four-year, $52 million deal, coming out to an average annual value of $13 million per season. Jordan Schultz of TheScore reports that Dean will be collecting $26 million in guaranteed money as part of his four-year deal.

Dean’s contract cannot be signed until Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. ET when the new league year begins.

The former third-round pick will continue to be an anchor in the secondary for the next four years, with his new contract set to run through the 2026 season.

Last year in Tampa, the 26-year-old registered two interceptions, 57 tackles and eight pass defenses across 15 games. He’s started 38 games in four years, making 57 appearances for the Buccaneers and was part of the Super Bowl-winning team in the 2020 season.
