We’ve been here before.
When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed Tom Brady, wideout Chris Godwin was already No. 12, so we wondered if Godwin would give up the jersey number so quickly. He ended up giving it away for free.
Now that Brady’s former New England Patriots teammate Rob Gronkowski is now a Buc, there’s also a current Buccaneers tight end — Jordan Leggett — with No. 87. So Leggett addressed that right away on Twitter on Tuesday night after the trade went down.
His price for Gronk to pay? A cool million dollars.
Of course, Leggett was kidding (he threw in a laughing emoji). Because when we checked Wednesday morning, the Buccaneers’ official site lists Leggett as No. 81 and Gronk getting 87. That was easy.
I would hope that Gronk would at least buy him dinner or something.
