Bucs’ Scotty Miller says he’s fastest player in NFL, would beat Tyreek Hill in a race

TAMPA, Fla. — Bucs fans are well aware of the speed of Scotty Miller. But did they and the rest of the NFL know he was this fast?

The second-year receiver said Wednesday during an interview on the Dan Patrick Show that not only is he faster than Chiefs speed merchant Tyreek Hill, he’s the faster player in the NFL. That’s the same Hill who torched the Bucs for 203 yards and two touchdowns — in the first quarter — during a 27-24 victory for Kansas City on Nov. 29 at Raymond James Stadium. Hill finished with 13 catches for 269 yards and three TDs.

“Oh, I’m taking me every day of the week,” Miller said when asked how would do in a race with Hill. “I’ll take me over anybody.”

“Wait, you think you’re the fastest guy in the NFL?” Patrick asked.

“Yes, sir,” said a confident Miller.

The 2019 sixth-round draft pick out of Bowling Green has garnered a load of national attention after scorching Packers cornerback Kevin King for a 39-yard touchdown catch just before the end of the first half Sunday in the NFC Championship Game.

And when did Miller know the deep pass from Tom Brady could turn into a touchdown?

“Right when I took off and I saw him not running, in my head I’m like, ‘Dude, No. 20, you better start running,’ ” Miller said.

No word yet from Hill, but considering the three-time Pro Bowl receiver is known to be candid, he likely will have a retort.
