Bucs RB Ronald Jones to have surgery on pinkie finger

TAMPA, Fla. — The Bucs’ run of finger injuries continues.

Running back Ronald Jones is scheduled to have a surgical procedure Tuesday to have a pin placed in his broken pinkie finger.

Jones played the entirety of the Bucs’ 26-14 win over the Vikings on Sunday. He rushed 18 times for 80 yards and a touchdown.

X-rays revealed a broken pinkie finger.

Receiver Chris Godwin sustained a similar injury against the Raiders earlier this season and missed one game.

If Jones is out, the Bucs will likely have to turn to Leonard Fournette, who was a healthy scratch Sunday. The Bucs benched Fournette in favor of LeSean McCoy, who responded with four carries for 32 yards to start the second half.

Jones is enjoying a career season, with 900 yards rushing and six touchdowns on 180 carries.
