Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston 'psyched' for home debut

Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston is excited to get back on the field at Raymond James Stadium.

Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns will mark Winston's first home game of the season _ he missed the team's first two while serving his league-mandated three-game suspension _ and his first action at Raymond James Stadium since a Week 17 win over New Orleans last season.

The Bucs haven't played at home since a 30-27 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football, the first of the team's three straight losses that have them currently sitting at 2-3 going into Sunday.

The Browns have made strides this season, opening the season 2-3-1 following last year's 0-16 campaign, but they still come to Raymond James with a 23-game road losing streak, having not won away from Cleveland since a 33-30 overtime win in Baltimore on Oct. 11, 2015.

"I'm psyched to get back out there in Ray Jay," Winston said. "It's been a long time for me being in Ray Jay. We've got to bring home a win for them. Last time we were there it was Monday Night Football, and since then it's been like a month since we've been as a team in Ray Jay. It's definitely going to be exciting to be out there and get that whole atmosphere with the fans."

Sunday's game marks the Bucs' only home contest over a five-game stretch. They lost at Chicago, had a bye week, then lost in Atlanta. After this week, the Bucs travel to Cincinnati and Carolina over the next two weeks.

The Bucs tweeted a video Wednesday afternoon featuring the team's quarterbacks _ Ryan Fitzpatrick, Winston and Ryan Griffin _ emphasizing they were excited to get back home this week.

"Watching on TV, I heard we have a beach at Ray Jay now?" Winston said, referring to the Bucs Beach area unveiled last month outside the stadium by the south-side end zone. "Even though I'm not going to be able to participate in beach activities, it will be cool."
