Bucks trade Rashad Vaughn, future second-round pick to Nets for center Tyler Zeller

NEW YORK _ The Milwaukee Bucks have reached an agreement to trade Rashad Vaughn and a future second-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets for center Tyler Zeller, a league source confirmed on Monday night. The trade has not yet become official.

Zeller, a seven-foot center who was the 17th overall pick in the 2012 draft out of North Carolina, has played six NBA seasons and was in his first with the Nets. He did not play in Sunday's game between the Bucks and Nets at the Barclays Center due to a coaching decision.

This season, Zeller has appeared in 42 games including 33 starts. He averages 7.1 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 54.6 percent from the field in 16.7 minutes per game. Zeller is on a contract that pays him about $1.7 million this season and about $1.9 million next year, with his 2018-'19 salary being unguaranteed.

Considering that the Bucks are in Manhattan to play the New York Knicks on Tuesday and the Nets are in the midst of a four-game home stand, Zeller could join Milwaukee as soon as Tuesday provided the trade is completed in time.

The trade ends Vaughn's tenure in Milwaukee at 2 { seasons. The 21-year-old, 17th pick in the 2015 draft had largely been phased out of the Bucks' rotation.

He appeared in 70 games, logging over 1,000 minutes as a rookie, saw his minutes total cut by more than half in 41 games in 2016-17 and played in just 22 of the Bucks' 52 games this season, averaging only 7.9 minutes per contest.

During his time in Milwaukee, Vaughn averaged 3.1 points in 12.3 minutes per game over 133 appearances. In October, the Bucks indicated Vaughn would not be part of their future plans when they chose not to pick up the fourth-year option of his rookie contract.
