Bucks’ Damian Lillard Makes NBA History With Dazzling Game-Winner vs. Kings

It was Dame Time at the Fiserv Forum on Sunday night.

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Sacramento Kings, 143—142 in overtime, thanks to a captivating game-winner sequence from star guard Damian Lillard, who drove down the court in the final seconds, then pulled up from the top of the key and drained a deep three-pointer as time expired.

Lillard punctuated the victory by tapping his wrist in his signature celebration and immediately was mobbed by his Milwaukee teammates. But the incredible shot was more than just a game-winner for Lillard.

It was historic as well.

By sinking the dagger triple, Lillard became just the fifth player in NBA history to knock down 2,500 career three-pointers.

Most three-pointers in NBA history:

Lillard, who poured in a team-high 29 points, including five triples, is in elite company. He was also in the good company of his teammates after the game, as fellow Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo celebrated the win on X, formerly Twitter.

Lillard and the Bucks are rolling, having now racked up three consecutive victories, including a pasting of the team with the best record in the NBA, the Boston Celtics, on Thursday.

The Bucks play at the Cleveland Cavaliers (22–15) at 7:30 p.m. ET Wednesday.
