Buckingham Palace selling Christmas hamper for staggering £200 and £60 stocking

Buckingham Palace is flogging a Christmas hamper for a staggering £200 and a stocking for a whopping £60.

The Royal Collection Shop is selling new merchandise to cash in on the festive season.

As fears rise of a shortage of yuletide gifts, including childrens' toys, this year due to the HGV driver shortage, the royals seem to be ready to help.

The hamper includes festive favourites such as mince pies, Christmas Pudding and chocolate coins.

Other sweet treats include biscuits, sweets and Christmas pudding caramel chocolates, plus a Corgi decoration, apron and festive coffee mug and matching tea towel.

"Have a very merry Christmas with festive delights and yuletide classics perfectly packed in this Luxury Christmas Hamper," RCS says of the hamper on its website.

The Royal Collection Shop website (Royal Collection Shop)

"From traditional mince pies, matched with a warming cup of spiced tea to be devoured on Christmas Eve with friends to a luxury selection of salted caramel chocolates and milk chocolate coins, this incredible hamper is full to the brim of your favourite Christmas treats to be enjoyed by your festive guests on Christmas Day."

Unfortunately it can't be shipped to Commonwealth countries Australia or New Zealand.

RCS may also raise eyebrows with the asking price for its £60 Christmas stocking.

The hamper is on sale for £200 (Royal Collection Shop)

It says of the product: "Add a festive touch to your mantelpiece this Christmas, with this magnificent, exclusively designed, red velvet stocking.

"Beautifully embroidered with glistening threads and pearl beading, this festive accessory is one to treasure for years to come."

It is also selling a Buckingham Palace Christmas Pudding for the more reasonable price of £9.95.

RCS also has an array of new children's toys including a Build a Bee Hotel kit, to help youngsters boost biodiversity, costing £12.99.
